Yet, We Keep Seeking for a Balance
Shiryokan (Former Sapporo Court of Appeal) was built beautiful decorative sculpture inherit from the West building is decorated, has kept the appearance of important meaning in justice. Among other things, the law of the goddess of Greek mythology that has been applied to the building front entrance top, carving the face of Themis, even by the strength of its presence led to today, to our mind to enter the building in solemn feelings You.
To enter the building, when you look at the balance with the image of Themis, which is placed in the hole, the "justice" for the enforcement of law in modern, we are forced to think about what things. Through the era, culture, awareness of each other beyond the differences in religion, they no longer allow us to make simple decision for justice.
Work is about "justice" and its "form for symbol". As a tribute to the Sapporo City Museum, I would like to express my view toward modern justice which are becoming more complex diversification.
